Our History
Twysted Yarn was a bit of an "oops." I was expecting my second child, and during an ultrasound in
December 2009, I learned she was a girl. Already knowing how to crochet, I decided to teach myself
how to make hats and other accessories because I felt that any daughter of mine was going to have to
have adorable handmade goodies. I posted a few pictures on
Facebook
and had friends and family request
nearly 30 hats within that first week. Not ever intending to go into business at that point, I began
fulfilling requests and soon found myself a seller on Etsy. Over 500 hats and accessories and one year
later, Twysted Yarn is a thriving, handmade small business.
I decided to call my business Twysted Yarn because it conjures up images of a pile of knotted yarn.
I love that something that seems so ordinary or perhaps even messy can become something beautiful with
a few simple "twysts" of the wrists. I pride myself on customer satisfaction and quality control. If
I don’t get it right, I don’t ship it. I count every stitch and create every item as though it were for
my own daughter, and if my name is on it, I guarantee you will receive only the best from me.
